SAIF MBA Meets Leaders of Today in Switzerland



The 44th St. Gallen Symposium was held on May 8 and 9 in St. Gallen Switzerland. Founded in 1969, this event has been an international platform for dialogue between the Leaders of Today and the Leaders of Tomorrow. SAIF MBA student Vincent Kott, standing out from the essay competition, was invited as one of 3 students from Shanghai to the symposium to meet the leaders and leaders-to-be from all over the world.
 

This year’s theme was «The Clash of Generations». 100 Leaders of Tomorrow were selected worldwide through an essay competition while another 100 were handpicked based on extraordinary achievements in academia and business.

A total of 600 Leaders of Today from academia, business and politics joined the event to meet Leaders of Tomorrow. Notable speakers included Ivan Glasenberg, the chief executive officer of Glencore Xstrata, Raghuram Rajan, the governor of the Reserve Bank of India, Axel Weber, the chairman of the board of UBS and the former World Bank president Robert Zoellick.
 

Standing out from the essay competition, SAIF MBA student Vincent Kott was selected as one of the 100 Leaders of Tomorrow to attend the symposium with all expenses covered. He wrote an essay on the topic of youth unemployment. When asked about the event, he said that it was an incredible experience and that he was honored to be in the presence of such talented and successful people from all over the world. Vincent also encourages all current SAIF students to participate in next year’s essay competition.
